Professor Seung-Ho Yu has been appointed as a Guest Editor for the Electrochimica Acta Special Issue, “Recent Advances in Operando Techniques for Battery Research.” This Special Issue highlights recent research and perspectives employing a wide range of operando and in-situ techniques for battery studies, with the goal of advancing the understanding of structural and chemical changes occurring in energy storage systems in real time. Covering topics such as reaction mechanisms, interphase formation, metal growth behavior, electrolyte structural evolution, and advanced characterization methods including microscopy, synchrotron X-ray, and imaging, this Special Issue reflects the growing importance of operando techniques in next-generation battery research. Professor Yu’s participation as Guest Editor represents a meaningful academic contribution to the field of advanced battery characterization.
